He is the former Chairman of the NSW Council of Chartered Secretaries Australia (now the Governance Institute of Australia) and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).   Martin contributes to the community via his Directorships of Worldskills Australia (a not for profit organisation which conducts trade and skill competitions to challenge young people to achieve work skills excellence), Trainworks and formerly, Bridge Housing (a significant provider of affordable housing).
