Where is Board Direction based?
Board Direction Pty Ltd is a wholly owned and operated Australian company based in Sydney, Australia, but operating nationally. Our ABN is 71 351 180347.
Do I need a NED LinkedIn profile and a NED LinkedIn profile?
No. We will either write for you or guide you in how to update your LinkedIn profile in such a way that it reflects both your executive career and your board aspirations. We have helped thousands of our members do this successfully.
I just want my board CV written for me or my board application reviewed. Do I need to become a member?
You don’t need to be a member. You can purchase a range of one-off services here. However, our Access+ and Executive Membership include some/all of these services.
Are you a recruitment firm?
Whilst our primary services provide Non-Executive Director (NED) career support for our members. We also utilise over two decades of board recruitment expertise and our extensive network to assist organisations in appointing new board members. We can do so by leveraging one of the most extensive lists of NED candidates available.

What type of board vacancies do you advertise?
We are Australia’s largest advertiser of board vacancies from a wide range of companies – Public, Commercial and Not-for-profit, across 50+ industries. See the list of all past vacancies here.

Approximately 62% of the roles we advertise are paid or pay expenses.
MEMBERSHIPS
How long will I have access to the training materials?
You will have access to the training materials for the entire length of your active subscription. The subscription period for all memberships is 12months.
What happens when my membership ends?
Unless you let us know, your membership will automatically renew 12 months after the date you joined. You may cancel at any time before that date by emailing us.
How is the training delivered?
Almost all of our training is delivered virtually. It can be accessed via your dashboard after you log in.
What is the difference between the Executive and the NED Program packages?
The Executive program provides access to board vacancies, the online training series, a board CV and LinkedIn profile written for you, and ongoing support for your board applications and quarterly accountability. It is primarily self-driven. The NED Program is similar to a personal trainer you might find in a gym. You get full in-person support, training, and accountability… and, as a result, a better, quicker outcome.
Can I start the NED Program anytime?
|YES – as soon as you join, you will have access to board vacancies, a board CV, LinkedIn profile update, Board Appointment Training Series, and unlimited application reviews. We will also book you in for your one-on-one board CV session and Career Planning Session with David within the first 30 days. We will then research and provide you with the names and contact details of ~300 NEDs, and through monthly accountability calls, writing your first board application, and full 1:1 support, we guarantee you a board appointment.
How can you guarantee a board appointment with the NED program?
We can guarantee an appointment for two reasons:
- We have successfully run this program hundreds of times before. We know that process works.
- We drive the process—ensuring you get the work done, the work that guarantees a result.
Do you guarantee a paid board role in the NED Program?
In some cases, we can; in other cases, we won’t. It is the reason we start the Program with a 30-day sprint. In it, you spend ~6hrs with David, and in that time we define a list of organisations we both believe you can —and want to —be appointed to. If we do not agree, there is a ‘get out point’ at which you can withdraw from the Program and be downgraded to an Executive Package.
CURRENT MEMBERS
Can I upgrade or downgrade my membership?
You can upgrade or downgrade your membership level at any time. If you wish to upgrade, we will calculate the changeover amount based on your current membership status. If you wish to downgrade, it will only take effect when your current membership is due for renewal. You can upgrade or downgrade your membership via your MyAccount Page or email us to discuss.
How can I cancel my membership?
You can cancel your membership at any time. This will result in the cancellation of the automatic renewal of your current membership on its anniversary. Your current membership will remain active until that date. You cancel your membership via your MyAccount Page.
What if I’ve forgotten my password?
You can reset your password here. If you are unsure which email address you used to set up your account, or if you require any assistance, please email us – contact@boarddirection.com.au.
How do I get my ‘Board Ready’ CV completed?
If you have joined as an Access, Executive, or Non-Executive member, please uplaod a WORD version of your current CV to via the Submit My CV option on your Memberships Dashboard. Generally, final versions of board-ready CVs are completed within 10 days of submission. Please let us know if you require an urgent turnaround.
How do I upload or update my NED profile?
You can load and update your profile via your MyAccount page. Then select “NED Directory Profile” from the menu on the left.
Where do I find the Implementation sections and training resources?
The implementation sessions are located within Stages 2, 3 and 4 of your Board Appointment Training Series. To access the associated training resources, navigate to the relevant implementation session videos. Beneath these videos, you will find three distinct tabs: “Overview,” “Resources,” and “Related content.” Select the “Resources” tab to locate and download the available materials.

Unlike other providers, we only recruit for board or governance roles. It is our speciality!
How to post a board role on the website?
You can either post your vacancy via our online form or send us the details at contact@boarddirection.com.au, and we will post it on your behalf.
Can I edit my listing?
If you list your board role via the online form, you will automatically be set up with an Adveriser’s account. Instructions to set your password will be sent to your email account. Please check your spam and junk folders for this email.
How much does it cost to post a role on the website?
You can advertise board roles for free.
If we need more help, do you provide board recruitment services?
YES. We offer four different board recruitment packages. The prices and service level are determined by how involved you want us to be in the process.
