Treasurer and Chair of Finance and Risk Management Committee of Royal Australasian College of Physicians – an educational body responsible for the accreditation and on-going education over 33,000 members, Deputy Board Chair and Chair of various State Government Finance, Risk and Audit committees, including sign-off on multiple Annual Accounts;
I have deep experience with State Government statement of priorities development and implementation, budgeting and code of conduct compliance;
Overseen both in house and outsourced Internal Audit functions and managed external auditor relationships including their termination and recruitment;
Deep experience in analysing and interpreting financial statements and understanding the “story” the numbers are telling;
Senior executive roles responsible for driving the efficiency and effectiveness of the operations and delivering strategic objectives within a financially responsible budget;
Deep and wide-ranging career in Financial Services, Insurance and Health sectors with Senior Executive roles at large Global organisations including HSBC (Head of Retail Bank HSBC Thailand), AIG, Allianz (General Mgr Vic as agent of WorkSafe) Medibank Private and ANZ.
Qualifications
Certified Practicing Risk Manager with Risk Management Institute of Australasia (CPRM) and an accredited Exemplar Global Lead Auditor in ISO 9001 (Quality), IS014001 (Environmental) and ISO45001 (Occupational Health & Safety);
Business degree in accounting (qualified but non-practicing CPA), Graduate of the AICD and a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia,
I will bring a constructive yet questioning perspective working with management and the Board, strong interpersonal skills for cultivating relationships and persuading, facilitating, and building consensus. I have a strong ethos focused on the qualities of integrity and a passion for customer centricity and operational effectiveness.
