With over 25 years’ director experience in both private and not for profit Community Services environments, Tony is focused on balancing strategic and targeted growth with sound Risk Management systems that ensure growth is supported and achieved with long term sustainability in mind. Tony has worked with Commonwealth and State Governments, Industry Bodies and Community Groups holding a working understanding of the messaging required to bring these partnerships together. Tony is action and results orientated with a focus on strategy, stakeholder engagement, succession planning, risk and compliance, particularly where there are dynamic growth pressures on resourcing, financing and shareholders.
Through Skill Hire, Tony was primarily involved in building this Community Services Business with Apprenticeships and Traineeships / Registered Training Organisation / Job Active Provider / Youth Services business from a one office company in Albany, turning over approximately $1m in 1996 to a company with 14 offices around Western Australia and South Australia, employing approximately 1000 people including 150 staff with an indigenous employment rate of 11% in 2012. As sole CEO of the company from 2008 to 2011, the company increased turnover by 105%, to $55mil, increased EBITDA by 300%, added six offices and another 70 FTE to the salary profile, recruited and implemented board and appropriate corporate governance, developed an executive structure, developed and implemented a succession plan allowing the founding shareholders to extract themselves from day to day operations while providing continued growth and the introduction of Private Equity Investment into the company. Key aspects of Tony’s involvement have been governance, strategy, stakeholder, risk, compliance and business management.
