Christina Milne

 Current Non Executive Director

I have held multiple C-suite roles across a variety of sectors: creative arts industry, not for profit, education and cultural sector organisations. In my most recent role as acting Chief Executive and State Librarian of the State Library of NSW I was responsible for executing the organisational vision of this globally recognised cultural destination while overseeing the development of its $3.5 billion collection, managing a $90million annual budget with 320 employees and working with significant and complex stakeholders including government and high-profile individuals. I received enormously positive feedback. My Executive experience includes strategy & business development, marketing, media and communications, international documentary film sales, government relations, café, catering and event management, large scale project management of significant facilities and associated security/risk requirements. I have exceeded budget projections, developed strong internal and external relationships, ensured all fiduciary and governance requirements are exceeded. I have practised and honed skills in developing organisational strategic visions and their tactical implementation in a broad range of portfolios. Expanding organisational results from creative development through funding to final product delivery has been the basis of my Executive successes. I have reported to Boards both as a CEO and as a senior member of executive teams. As a Marketing Director an Executive Director I reported on sales forecasts and budgets, fundraising successes and areas of concern and pitched new campaigns and branding changes that subsequently achieved between 10% and 40% increase in financial returns, diversified stakeholder bases and raised organisation profiles. As CEO, I was a major contributor to, and held significant responsibilities for, the Library Council and its Audit & Risk committee, and provided open, honest and detailed assessments of the business, the risks to be considered and mitigation strategies for delayed funding for building works. I was responsible for the successful implementation of Deloitte organisation audit reports, development of a strategy for revenue generation strategies, analysis of workforce planning data, review of committee memberships and terms of reference. I was a long-term member of the Foundation Board, the Public Library Consultative Committee, the Legal Information committee and the Cultural and Linguistically Diverse committee. I have acted as company secretary, participated in audit and risk committees, chaired/participated in national forums with peers. I have been told that I take creative and tangential approaches that lead to better outcomes. I currently hold a not-for-profit Board position and was recently re-elected to this role.
