I am a Non Executive, Chairman, Committee Chair, Director and CEO with over 20 years board experience across the Health, Education and Primary Industry sectors.
At board level, I am currently a NED with the following organisations:
• Australian and New Zealand Head and Neck Cancer Society;
• Pharmacy Board of Australia; and
• South Coast Careers College.
I can also evidence having sat as a NED on two previous boards – Networking Health NSW (formerly General Practice NSW) and Nationwide Placements Pty Ltd. Here I participated in determining the strategic direction and monitoring all compliance obligations including financial, legal and risk management activities.
In an executive capacity, my last position was CEO of Services for Australian Rural and Remote Allied Health (SARRAH). As such I can demonstrate extensive knowledge of and experience in Government processes and policy development and strong board and executive level connections that have been leveraged for success in my current and past roles.
My Board and Executive successes include:
- Increased government funded programs administered by SARRAH from $1.6m to $17m including the allied health component of the Nursing and Allied Health Scholarship and Support Scheme – approximately $15m per annum.
- Diversified SARRAH’s income stream from non-government sources through the establishment of a corporate membership category – increasing the number of corporate members from zero to approximately 30.
- Appeared at the National Press Club of Australia, as a panelist, speaking on the Turnbull government’s 2015 budget cuts across the health sector.
- Launched at Parliament House Canberra, a report titled “The impact of allied health professionals in improving outcomes and reducing the cost of treating diabetes, osteoarthritis and stroke” revealing that allied health services have the potential to save the health budget more than $175 million every year.
Finally, I am a Graduate of the AICD’s Company Directors Course.
