Vivienne started her corporate governance career in Australia in 2012. Held numerous roles in the private, local government and not-for-profit sectors as a board advisor and director including vehicle finance, land management, community advocacy, infrastructure services, Special Olympics, literacy education, a state-based arts and music festival, a national sporting association, a global disaster relief organisation and a social enterprise based in Cambodia. An experienced board director who has chaired governance committees, Health and safety committees and is actively involved Finance Audit and Risk. Brings to boards deep knowledge of infrastructure by involvement in more than 500 projects working in the areas of health and safety, environmental, value engineering, stakeholder engagement, quality management, resource planning, programme management, operational execution, pricing and financial implications, contractual obligations and risks, as well as compliance to relevant legislation and regulation. Indicative was her role as Deputy Director of the New Zealand Defence Force Infrastructure Project Management office. Oversight of the management of the NZDF estate currently valued at $3.5B, as well as an annual capital works programme of $300M. The estate is a complex network of approximately 81,000 hectares and 5,000 buildings spread across nine camps and bases, two large land training areas and various regional locations throughout NZ. Has been vetted by the SIS and maintains the requisite secret security clearance to carry out this role. Brings to the boardroom sound knowledge of profit and loss accountability, business strategy through to execution, commercial law, contracts and procurement, corporate finance and has led business development, marketing, change management and communications programmes. Understands the workplace of the future including the need for strong people leadership. Understands the boardroom dynamic and brings a fresh perspective, contemporary management and governance experience and understands how diversity of perspective matters and current networks. She participates in the digital economy and knows how it works and how it affects business. Understands innovation, better risk management, and stronger connections with customers, employees and business partners. Understands the responsibility of providing good corporate governance and understands how the roles of management and governance differ. Having a broad range of collective attributes, rather than overlapping or redundant qualities, helps a board significantly in fulfilling its responsibilities of providing good corporate governance and strategic oversight.
