YWCA Queensland is currently recruiting talent business women for our signature program, Y Bloom.Y Bloom is a unique mentoring program for teenage girls who show potential as leaders. The program is designed for girls in Year 9 (approximately 14 years old) to build resilience and confidence through activities which grow self-awareness, emotional intelligence, problem solving, team work, creativity and business skills.A key element in the programs success is the involvement of mentors inspiring women drawn from the local community who participate as positive role models and facilitators. Throughout the program girls work in their teams on a student-directed project to showcase and practice their new leadership skills.A combination of coaching, fun activities and mentoring are used to motivate, guide and support students to believe in themselves, discover their potential, understand how their education is applied in the real world and increase their awareness of the opportunities open to them on completing school.Applicants will be selected for the position of mentor based on their knowledge of career pathways, their ability to think creatively, the location of their workplace, their leadership and professional skills and their ability to work with young women from a diverse range of backgrounds. |
