The Organisation

Country Universities Centre (CUC) supports higher education students by providing a dedicated learning and study space designed for regional people by regional people. They support all higher education students in the Ovens Murray region from any university or non-university higher education provider. Plus, they support local businesses or service providers interested in engaging locally trained university graduates and students or hosting student placements and work-based learning. 

CUC Ovens Murray was opened in 2022 as an affiliate of Country Universities Centre, with support from the Australian Federal Government.

The Role

Country Universities Centre Ovens Murray Ltd (CUC-OM) has a vacancy for a Board member to serve on its volunteer Board. CUC-OM refreshes part of its Board annually. Each Board Member is generally appointed for a term of 3 years.

Monthly meetings are held bi-monthly in Wangaratta and available to attend via Zoom. (4pm, second Thursday of the month). An expectation is that board members are involved in at least one sub-committee.

Selection Criteria

• Do you have a passion to empower our communities to realise higher education aspirations?
• Do you have skills to contribute to a dynamic and evolving Not-for-Profit community education organisation?
• Expertise in law, information technology, finance, auditing/compliance would be highly regarded. 
• Potential Board members would have a connection to the Ovens Murray region and experience in industries requiring higher education qualified workforces.
