Role Description

The Organisation

ETC – Enterprise & Training Company Limited – specialises in the delivery of employment, training and business services. ETC is a provider of a variety of employment-related programs and is a nationally accredited Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

They have been operating on the Mid North Coast of NSW since 1989 and now service along the East Coast of Australia between Newcastle in NSW and Bundaberg in QLD, as well as inland NSW. As a not-for-profit organisation, any surplus generated from ETC’s operations is reinvested into the company. ETC is driven by its Vision to positively impact people’s lives and its Mission to empower customers to grow through personalised service. The company’s culture is purposeful, innovative and supportive and aligns with our corporate values of Respect, Integrity, Success and Empowerment.

The Role

ETC is currently experiencing an exciting phase of positive change and growth, and as a result, we are looking to further enhance the mix of skills and diversity within the Board. They are seeking up to two new Directors to be based in Queensland, with a preference for the areas wider Brisbane/Sunshine Coast in QLD.

As a Board Director, you will be responsible for the leadership of ETC and establishing the organisation’s strategic direction and desired outcomes. The Board is also responsible for short and long term operational planning, as well as reviewing the annual budget and providing financial oversight. This position is a rare opportunity for you to make a valuable difference in the management and operation of ETC, as well as enhancing the Board’s contribution to the ongoing evolution and growth of the organisation.

This is a remunerated position, and as such, Board members are expected to prepare for and participate in board meetings held outside of business hours every month and attend the Annual General Meeting. Directors are also required to sit on two subcommittees, which require preparation and participation, induction, industry orientation with networking and participation in the organisation’s activities and events.

As a Not for Profit, ETC provides grants to community-based organisations annually, and appointed Directors are required to attend up to two (2) of these support fund events a year. These are usually held Monday to Friday during office hours.

For those directors based outside of the Coffs Harbour region, attendance at meetings is mostly online, with the exception of the budget meeting to be held in June and the AGM in November, both of which require in-person attendance at the ETC Head Office in Coffs Harbour.
