Victoria Geddes
Managing Director
The majority of my career has been focused on the equity market either as an analyst, researching listed companies as a fund manager or a broking analyst, or as a consultant advising CEOs, CFOs and boards on their communication strategy to the key influencers in capital markets. Whether management or boards are seeking to engage with markets to ensure their share price appropriately reflects the value of the company or wish to raise capital to grow, it is the effectiveness of their communications strategy that will shape the outcome over time. Over the past 20 years I have worked with boards on a range of transactions and regularly provide advice to management on when, how and what to say to investors . Boards are more effective if they include a perspective that understands how financial markets work, the importance of engaging with investors and what best practice investor communications looks like. It is not enough to have a strong corporate strategy if the market does not understand it nor a capable management team if they lack the ability to communicate it effectively. Communicating a company's environmental, social and governance credentials is becoming almost more important than its financial results, threatening companies' access to capital if they fail to meet the appropriate standard.
I bring to a board over 30 years of experience working in financial markets and with companies across a multitude of issues from hostile takeovers, receiverships and accounting irregularities to CEO sackings, profit downgrades and employee fraud . I know the questions to ask, the boundaries that need to be maintained and the importance to financial markets of strong governance.
