Group Managing Director & CEO. Non Executive Director
I am a Non Executive Director, Chairman, Committee Member, Group Managing Director and CEO with over 20 years of board level experience with particular expertise in the retail, technology, financial services and food (and fmcg) manufacturing industries. At board level, recent highlights include: Non Executive Director & multiple Committee Member of Innscor Africa Limited, where I drove improvements in corporate governance, strategy development and capital investment. I was also a NED of: National Foods Ltd, Irvines Pty Ltd, and Colcom Ltd and the Chairman of Spar Pty Ltd. Prior to these roles I held a Non Executive Director role with AB Limited. Further, I have held the role of Chairman of Enterprise Connection Pty Ltd and Incredible Connection Pty Ltd. In an executive capacity I have held Group MD / CEO roles in private and listed multi-national groups of companies, with revenues of up to 10bn and 18,000 employees. Most recently as Group MD / CEO of Innscor Africa Limited I significantly increased enterprise value. As the Group MD / CEO of EHL Group and Executive Director of ABI Ltd I was also responsible for business optimization and innovation of the Financial Services Group, and the acquisition and turnaround of South Africa’s largest furniture retail group. Earlier I was Group MD / CEO of Connection Group Holdings Ltd where I implemented a turnaround and repositioned the Group creating the largest and second largest companies in their sector in South Africa. In my first role as Managing Director, I managed the turnaround of South Africa’s second largest discount retailer, Dion, acquired the largest retailer, Game and integrated the two, creating Massdiscounters. Finally, I am currently reading for my PHD and have a B.Comm.
