Role Description

The Organisation

Southern Cross Housing (SCH) is an accredited Tier 1 Community Housing Provider under the National Regulatory System for Community Housing. They manage a range of crisis, transitional, social, and affordable housing properties across an area from Wollongong to Eden and across to Jindabyne. With a portfolio of some 2,300 dwellings, SCH manages assets worth over $1 billion and has net assets in excess of $100 million.

From humble beginnings in 1983, SCH has grown to become a leading provider of Social and Affordable Housing in Regional NSW, with a proud reputation for service excellence and innovation, which has provided growth opportunities.

SCH intends to continue this trend of growth to meet the needs of the communities it serves.

The Role

A vacancy has arisen to collaboratively work amongst the SCH Board, continuing the work and influence of SCH as a leader and innovator in the Social & Affordable Housing Sector.

This is a remunerated position commensurate with similar not-for-profit organisations. As a guide, Board members can expect to meet 10 times per year, engage between meetings as required, and undertake annual professional development.

As per SCH’s Constitution, Directors are appointed for a three-year term with the opportunity to be reappointed up to a maximum term of 9 years.
