Emma is a corporate finance professional, with 25 years’ experience across her executive and Non-Executive career in adapting corporate strategy to thrive in rapidly changing technological and geopolitical environments.
Emma’s diverse board experience includes as one of two independent NEDs for an ASX listed company with international operations; an Australian subsidiary of large foreign owned resources company; an Australian joint venture board with several foreign shareholders; and a community NFP board.
Emma has extensive leadership experience with organisations operating across multiple jurisdictions including Australia, UK, South-East Asia, the Americas and China, and involved in a range of activities including mining exploration and operations; extraction of specialty materials; downstream processing of critical minerals; production of chemicals, non-ferrous metals, and battery pre-cursors; and battery related R&D. Through this widespread experience, she has developed strong inter-personal and communication skills, insights into cross-country governance challenges, and an understanding of the impact of differing cultural values on organisational strategy.
Emma’s deep financial and legal expertise, developed initially in investment banking and expanded in Australian and international corporates, ensures active participation on audit committees; leadership in capital raisings and corporate transactions; and experience with contemporary topics including global minimum tax rules and sustainability reporting.
Emma also has previous board experience also includes providing direction for entities operating in acute financial stress leading to a focused understanding of a board’s role in evaluating and managing financial and non-financial risks, legal responsibilities, ethical considerations, and communication strategies.
