Bruno Da Silva
Procurement Leader
● I am a Non-Executive Director with a decade of board experience across the NfP, Public and Private sectors in the health, technology, environmental and education industries.
● At board level, what I do is build organisational function. I do that by leveraging significant procurement strategy, policy and strong exposure in finance and governance in a corporate and public environment. I have been a member of Taronga Animal Welfare and Ethics Committee chaired by Taronga Director of Welfare Conservation and Science Nick Boyle where I am proud to have provided a commercial voice to complex animal welfare issues. I am also a member of the NSW Department of Planning and Environment Procurement sub- committee chaired by Department of Planning and Environment Chief Procurement Officer Kendall Laing. Here I have interpreted complex government directives and applied them in a practical way to Taronga’s operations such as modern slavery considerations in security and cleaning services. I regularly present or write papers to Taronga’s Audit and Risk committee and Taronga’s Board. I am particularly proud to have led the conversation on the organisation’s renewable energy decision to move from black energy to one hundred percent renewable electricity. This single initiative halved Taronga’s carbon emissions and secured annual recurring electricity bill savings.
