Leigh Clement

Managing Director

I am an experienced Non-Executive Director, Committee Member, Chair, Deputy Chair and Senior Executive with two decades of board level experience with particular expertise in the Government, Not-for-Profit, Profit-for-Purpose, Government Owned Corporations (GOCs) and Consulting sectors, and I understand the drivers, priorities and operating environments of each type of organisation. At board level, what I do is drive corporate governance compliance. I do that by leveraging my knowledge and expertise in strategy development and implementation, performance measurement, governance frameworks, investor and stakeholder relations, risk management, organisational transformation and policy development. Board level highlights include Non-Executive Director of Stafford Parish Credit Union; Emerging Industries Consultative Committee Member at AgriFutures Australia; Commissioner and Deputy Chair of the Queensland Local Government Grants Commission and a Member of numerous industry, Research and Development Corporations (RDCs) and Government Steering Committees and Working Groups. In an executive capacity, I am currently the Managing Director of StrategyWise Consulting, where I provide strategy, investor and stakeholder relations, governance, business planning and organisational transformation advice and solutions. Previously, as the Executive Manager Investor Relations of Sugar Research Australia (SRA), I spearheaded the development of the company’s strategic direction, pioneered the development of an annual Investor Performance Report that was subsequently promoted by the Australian Government as best practice, and secured an annual government investment of nearly $10M. Earlier, as the Manager Strategy at Queensland Rail, I played a strategic advisory role during the demerger of QR Limited and the establishment of Queensland Rail. Finally, I hold a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland, and I am a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD’s) Company Directors Course.
