Daniel Lambert

Australasia Water Leader

I am a Board Director, Advisory Committee Member, Chair and Australasia Water Leader with over 15 years of board and executive-level experience across the private and not-for-profit sectors with particular experience in the management consulting, utilities and public policy industries. At board level what I do is draw on my experience and skills to provide oversight, foresight and insight. I do that by demonstrating a focus on ensuring a clearly articulated and measurable strategy, accountability and strong organizational culture. Board level highlights include: Global Strategic Advisory Council at International Water Association; Technical Advisory Board at Operation Water; Technical Advisory Board at Masy Consultants; Global Advisory Council at Imagine H20; Expert Review Panel at Australian Water Partnership; Technical Expert, Vietnam Water PPP Expert Advisory Committee and NSW Branch Committee Member at Australian Water Association; National Urban Water Reform Paper - Steering Committee at Infrastructure Partnerships Australia; Regional Leader at Engineers without Borders Partnership; Director, Consult Australia National Board; Chair, FutureNet Committee at Consult Australia; Chair WaterAid Committee Victoria Division. In an executive capacity, I am currently Australasia Water Leader at Arup. Here I have established and grown Arup’s water business by 900% (and as one of the companies most profitable businesses globally), expanded it into seven new geographies and positioned the business as advisors to C-suite executives. Previously I was Water Management & Engineering Leader, South East Asia within the same company. Earlier I was Planning Partner Services Lead and Client Lead at Sydney Water. Finally, I am a Fellow of Engineers Australia, an EngExec (their highest qualification for Leadership and Management), a member of the National Urban Water Reform Steering Committee and the Infrastructure Partnerships Australia Water Taskforce. I have been a recipient of the Australian Water Association Water Professional of the Year Award and recognised as one of Australia’s ‘Most Innovative Engineers’ by Engineers Australia. This year I was awarded the highest honour in Australia for civil engineering – the Sir John Holland Award.
