Jo Curkpatrick
Communication adviser
I am a non-executive director with more than a decade of board-level experience across not-for-profit, professional associations, tourism, agriculture and health sectors. I bring particular expertise in strategic communication, stakeholder engagement and governance.
A director of Uniting Country SA (UCSA), I have contributed to the organisation’s increased reputation and profile having had oversight of its rebranding and the development of a communication strategy, directly impacting the organisation’s reputation as a leader in community services in regional Australia.
Prior to UCSA I have undertaken roles as Chair, Deputy Chair, audit committee member and led remuneration and communication sub-committees. I have applied my skills and experience as a responsible director for an organisation facing a financial crisis, leading to a board restructure and a request for me to step up as chair to bring the organisation and governance into line.
My professional career is as a senior advisor in communication and engagement, working with corporate, government and not-for-profit organisations. I am guided by the knowledge that communication and stakeholder engagement are critical to an organisation’s success – to the bottom line as well as contributing to the culture and valuing the people that make a winning organisation.
Finally, I am a Strategic Communication Management Professional, a member of the PRIA and Graduate of the AICD Directors course. I am an Australian citizen and passionate about rural and regional Australia.
