● Strategic planning: As a public company director I have been heavily involved in strategic positioning and transformation including: divesting a non-core business and returning capital to shareholders; board renewal; change in management and culture; and repositioning (and reinventing) the business for regulatory change and higher professional standards. ● Ability to analyse, critically assess and drive company performance: By profession and qualification I am a highly experienced analyst of businesses. I have acted as a professional investor focused on identifying opportunities to improve performance, as a research analyst, adviser and director. I hold the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and have spent nearly 20 years analysing financial statements, modelling financials and assessing value. ● Experienced (board level, governance): I have been a director of a publicly listed financial services group for over five years. I sit on the Governance, Audit, Risk & Compliance Committee and chair the Nominations & Remuneration Committee. I have also chaired a Group Investment Committee. I am also exposed to ongoing compliance and governance frameworks and processes as the owner and manager of an ASIC-regulated entity. ● Interpersonal & communications skills: I am a team player who is used to working with a multiplicity of stakeholders and interested parties. I also have strongly developed communications skills through my experience as a former journalist and equities research analyst. I have successfully led a variety of teams and continue to have strong relationships with those who have worked with me in the past.
