As a Non Executive Director, Business Founder and CEO, my career growth has come from my ability to make a difference through leadership, community and entrepreneurship. What does that mean? I spent my founder and investor career growing multiple businesses within insurance and financial services, nurturing a loyal, growing client base. Even though Australia loves sport it is a competitive market to keep supporters' attention. My experience in strategy, building brand and executing a vision comes primarily from my time within professional sport leadership and the sporting community. As Chairman and Interim CEO of the Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs, I implemented the first strategic plan and growth strategy. While I was on the Board, membership grew from 4000 to approximately 25000; I understand what keeps customers loyal and potential customers engaged. The Bulldogs Consolidated Group of Companies is a large organisation employing over 600 staff, a membership of some 80K and a turnover close to $110M. As a professional membership organisation, the brand matters. The Canterbury League Club, underwent a $110M state of the art renovation which was completed in 2018. I recruited three CEOs during my tenure, with two going on to lead at national level. My qualifications as a finance professional bring a natural focus on risk management and governance. I was one of the longest serving Directors of NSW Rugby League (NSWRL), and one of the key drivers for change. Balancing stakeholder opinions with best business practice is an ongoing challenge best met with clear communication and agreed business goals. To compliment my practical boardroom experience I have an Executive MBA, qualifications in corporate governance, financial services, mortgage lending and as an Insurance Broker.
