An experienced General Manager with over 20 years’ experience in large multinational organisations in the engineering, electronic, manufacturing and energy sectors with the most recent being the Executive General Manager Human Resources, OHS and Systems for Bradken. This is a $1.4 billion revenue business which has had up to 6500 direct employees spanning all major continents. In the past 12 years I presided over the rapid expansion activities of Bradken which included a greenfield production site development in China, and merger and acquisition activities in USA, Canada, UK and India. This combined with the development of sales and warehouse activities in 10 countries has given me a breadth and depth of knowledge of people management processes and practices across the world.
I consider myself more as an organisational architect and one who partners with the CEO and leadership teams to design and deliver people systems aligned to the delivery of strategy. I am adept at operating at any level of the organisation from Boards of Directors to the shop floor. I have an approachable and coaching style that is inclusive which I believe yields more sustainable long term results. I foster a contribution based culture where employees are encouraged to fulfil their potential whilst ensuring alignment with the company needs and direction.Throughout my career I have delivered appropriate management practices and coaching, which focus on delivering the business' objectives through commercially focused people strategies. I have a demonstrated record of significantly improving HR operational effectiveness and efficiency as well as leading the implementation of best in class people practices.
I am also recognised as a thought leader and practitioner in safety and risk management through the publication of "The Practical Safety Guide To Zero Harm" which has now sold over 20000 copies across the world.
