Gary Allan

Chair and NED

Gary is a team player. He uses his extensive experience and skills on corporate or government Boards to provide strong strategic thought with a broad contemporary industry and technology awareness including senior Defence and government roles. His extensive Board and practical experience allow him to be a coach and mentor wherever he is involved. Gary also has extensive Chair and Member experience on Not for Profit (NFP) Boards ranging from small (under 5 F/T and P/T staff) to medium (around 100 F/T and P/T staff). For example over the last 30 years he has been a Member of and Chair of the Military Christian Fellowship of Australia, Member and Vice President Podmore Foundation, Member and Chair Australian Navigators Ltd, Chair Business Life Network and Chair Australia for Jesus. Gary remains an unpaid (P/T) associate staff of the Australian Navigators. His ongoing experience and training in Board work has been recognised by the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) at the Fellow level. He is a CP Engineer and as such is very comfortable in IT technology related fields and innovation. Gary recently retired as the Chair of SME Gateway Pty Ltd. During his 7 seven tenure he was a key influence in the growth of the company from ~$18m revenue in 2015 to ~$41m in 2019 with a zero debt position and a very healthy EBITDA. He remains Chair of the RTO accredited, Australian Institute of Family Counselling (AIFC) where he continues to led the sustainable growth in revenue and VET sector course delivery.
