Key achievements include: - Over the period from 2001- 2017, I was responsible for management of investment portfolios of up to $100m in value in both on-farm and post-farm sectors of Australian Wool Innovation Limited (AWI), including establishment of AWI's business intelligence, and measurement and evaluation programs. My final role was as General Manager - Research (2014-17). - Domestic and International representative roles, include Chairing the Sustainable Practices, Product Wellness and Wool Trade Biosecurity Working Groups for the Brussels-based International Wool Textile Organisation (https://www.iwto.org ), membership of the China-Australia Joint Working Group on Wool (2011 - 2015), Federation of Australian Wool Organisations Emergency Animal Disease Working Group, and the Animal Health Australia National Animal Biosecurity Research, Development and Extension Strategy Working Group. - Establishment of a number of major wool industry initiatives for AWI, including the Australian National Dark and Medullated Fibre Response Program, the AWI/MLA SheepGenomics Program (AUD30m), the AWI/MLA Sheep Genetics Australia/ MerinoSelect (Australia's national sheep genetic database), AWI On-Farm Fibre Measurement Program, and development of the Australian Sheep Industry CRC's Wool Program. - I have provided consulting services to a wide range of commercial enterprises, including stud and commercial Merino producers in Australia and New Zealand. - I was also a founding member of the Peter Westblade Scholarship (https://pwscholarship.com.au ) - a private charity supporting mentoring and skills development for young entrants to the Australian wool industry.
