With broad and deep experience in logistics, supply chain management, retail operations and manufacturing, I specialize in business performance improvement, business growth and development, solution based selling and solving complex business problems. My approach typically combines a mix of creative imagination, disruptive thinking and solution based selling to devise practical, sustainable solutions that increase enterprise value and shareholder returns and mitigate risk. My experience in Executive roles provides an understanding of the mix of skill sets and personality profiles that are required to form high performance teams and how to motivate them. In an executive capacity I was Business Advisor to and then CEO at Simon National Carriers; President FMCG-Asia Pacific with Linfox Logistics; CEO at Metrojaya Berhad (Malaysia & Singapore); Joint Chief Operating Officer at Laura Ashley UK & Europe; and Group General Manager at Owens Global Logistics. I can evidence having led several business turnarounds that delivered significant growth in sales and profitability with resultant increases in shareholder returns and enterprise values. Recently, in an advisory capacity, I completed two significant projects successfully: I assisted a client with a difficult transition of a newly acquired business and I assisted a retailer to resolve critical fulfilment issues in the lead up to Christmas/New year that had the potential to cause serious financial harm. A Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD), Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (FCILT), and Graduate of an executive development program at the Darden Graduate School of Business, University of Virginia, USA. On a personal level I enjoy advising and mentoring organisations and individuals and I am motivated by working with teams of like-minded people. I am seeking an appointment to a board where my experience, my passion and my energy will contribute towards achieving the board's goals and objectives and, in return, give me the satisfaction of being a value-adding member of the team.
