General Manager
I am a Committee Chair, Member and General Manager (Risk) & Director with over twenty years of board level experience across the commercial sector with particular experience in the banking, mortgage and risk management industries. At board level some highlights have included Chair of the Divisional Incident Management Committee, member of the Group Crisis Management Committee and Personal Bank Divisional Risk Committee, and multiple project advisory boards in the National Australia Bank. I was also Director and Chair of the Board Audit Committee for the Western Lenders Mortgage Insurance Company Limited and a member of the Challenger Financial Services Group divisional Executive Committee, as well as a member of the Bankwest/HBOS Australia Retail Bank Executive Committee. In these roles I have provided expert strategic risk management advice and leadership. In an executive capacity I was the General Manger (Management Assurance) with National Australia Bank leading a team of 65 financial services Risk Management specialists. Previously I was the General Manager of Risk with NAB’s Growth Partnerships and Advantedge Financial Services businesses. In this role I led initiatives resulting in a 30% productivity improvement across the business. Prior to that I was the General Manager of Risk with Challenger Financial Services Group where I was integral to the negotiations for the sale of the business to National Australia Bank. Preceding the role with Challenger, I was a senior executive with Bankwest, where I led businesses that resulted in profit targets being exceed by 10% and a 20% productivity gain through the implementation of new technologies. Finally, I have an MBA, am a member of the Risk Management Association and have completed the Australian Institute of Company Directors Course.
