Role Description

The Organisation

Since establishing our first family farm in 1929 in Theodore, Qld, Hewitt has been guided by a simple philosophy: treat animals well, treat people well and treat the land well.

Hewitt Foods has come a long way. Today, they have over 200,000 livestock across Australia – and the largest integrated supply chain of certified organic meat. Brands include Cleaver’s (Organic Meat), Borrowdale (Free Range Pork) and Warilba (Organic Lamb). Their vision is to be the world’s most sustainable meat producer,

The Role

Hewitt Foods is seeking an experienced Non-Executive Director with deep global experience in food or consumer packaged goods (CPG) to help guide Hewitt’s next phase of growth.

This is an active, insight-driven Board role ideal for a leader who has built and scaled brands internationally, navigated complex supply chains, and driven customer-centric growth from within large or high-growth food businesses.

Key focus areas:

  • Shaping long-term growth and product strategies with a focus on customer, brand, and market performance.
  • Providing practical, industry-grounded advice on innovation, consumer trends, and experience design.
  • Advising on international expansion and supply chain optimisation across the Asian and US markets.
  • Supporting management to balance entrepreneurial agility with disciplined execution and governance.
  • Collaborating closely with founders and executives to embed customer-centric thinking across the enterprise.

Selection Criteria

You’ll be a former senior executive (CEO, divisional leader, or C-suite) from the food, beverage, or FMCG/CPG sectors, bringing strong commercial and operational credentials. You have lived experience in scaling consumer brands and leading growth across multiple regions, ideally including Asia and/or the US.

You’re pragmatic, commercially minded, and collaborative, someone who combines strategic perspective with real-world experience and enjoys helping founder-led businesses grow sustainably.

What you’ll bring:

  • Proven success driving customer-focused growth and product innovation.
  • Experience leading global operations, brands, or supply chains.
  • Strong understanding of consumer trends, market entry, and brand differentiation.
  • Sound governance judgement and ability to influence effectively at Board level.
