The Opportunity: Study Group is refocusing on its core business of providing customised pathways programmes across higher education. As such, they require board members who can guide the business in these terms whilst also contributing to meeting the significant challenges that compliance, regulatory and governance matters have on the business.
Job Description: Priority will be given to individuals who can demonstrate how their professional expertise and experience can further the goals of Study Group. Specifically, they seek applicants who have an understanding of the complexities of recruiting international students into pathway programs, how to feed them into leading Australian Universities and who have a genuine passion for education and governance.
Person Specification: Study Group have a significant Global footprint and a profile in Australia that no one else can match. As such, the successful candidate will likely to match this profile. Up to three(3) Non Executive Directors are sought for the Australian Board. Specifically, they should be able to evidence success in the following core criteria.
- Governance: Demonstrable board level governance experience in a business of a similar scope and scale and ideally have Compliance and Regulatory expertise.
- Skills & Experience: Evidence of one (or more) of the following:
- Finance – particularly Audit & Risk expertise,
- Business Development – strong tertiary education (and related) networks or,
- Academic – proven senior experience operating in a Tertiary Education environment.
- Networks & Connections: Demonstrable understanding of, and connections with, the Tertiary Education (and related) sector.
- Passion: A demonstrable passion for a business such as Study Group and education – again, preferably tertiary education.
- Cultural Fit: An ability to demonstrate how you as a Non Executive Director will support the executive, the Chair and other board members to achieve the goals of Study Group.
Location & Time Commitment: Board meetings are held in Sydney four (4) times a year. Applications are open to national candidates but preference will be given to those on the East Coast (ideally Sydney or Melbourne or who have significant East Coast connections). You must be able to attend all board meetings in person (not electronically).
Remuneration: This is PAID opportunity.
