Person Specification
Due to the recent and the expected retirement of existing board members, up to five (5) new NEDs are sought – one of whom could be later nominated to be Chair in the future.
The successful candidates are required to demonstrate their success against the following criteria, acknowledging not all skill are required for applicants:
- Governance: Prior governance experience is preferred but not essential – as such, having been a Non-Executive Director (NED) is not a prerequisite, but board level experience is. Governance qualifications are also highly desirable.
- Skills and Experience:
- Fundraising and Grants – knowledge of how to structure or engage with Government grants or philanthropic bodies/individuals OR
- Finance/Accounting experience (being a qualified accountant is desirable but not essential) OR
- Community Services – having senior experience within an organisation of similar scope, scale and impact OR
- Clinical expertise – evidence of research, evaluation and measurement of community services (evidence of impact) OR
- Technology – Including evidence of having expertise in AI and Cyber Security/Risk OR
- Government – Evidence of your ability to advocate and experience lobbying government to influence policy OR
- People & Culture and Change – Evidence of driving cultural change.
- Passion & Fit: Evidence of being passionate about the community services sector – in particular youth and families.
- Diversity: Applications are particularly encouraged from energetic candidates with lived experience of young parenthood and Indigenous people.

Location & Remuneration & Timings
Board Meetings: Five (5) times a year online, including 2 x in-person meetings generally in Melbourne. Some board members will also be expected to nominate for and attend the Risk, Audit and Finance, Strategy and Governance, or Lived Experience (future) Committees.
Candidate Location: Applications will be considered from all Australian-based candidates.
Remuneration: This is a voluntary role, though all expenses will be paid where appropriate.

- Short-listed candidate interviews will be conducted 15th-16th August
