The key skills I would bring to a Board appointment include strategic thinking, a risk management mindset and a global perspective on risk and governance, particularly in relation to enterprise risk management and the role of internal and external audit. As a member of PwC’s Assurance Leadership Team I contribute to the strategic direction of the Assurance business and monitor the progress against our strategic imperatives. My role, in particular, is to manage the risks and our progress against regulator’s quality expectations as we implement against our strategy. This has been developed through my Client Service Risk and Quality role which includes establishing our Enterprise Risk Model and considering controls and monitoring activities for each of our key risks. I also have strong relationship and interpersonal skills, the knowledge of Directors duties, particularly Corporations Act requirements, and the ability to present views and influence outcomes developed through my 21 years as an audit partner presenting to Boards and Audit Committees.
