Amanda Cook
Clinical Nurse
I am a young, passionate, driven, career minded woman, with significant health industry experience. I believe that the MBA is providing me with the necessary skills required to be an effective board member. Therefore, I consider myself to be a viable candidate and a great asset to any organization allowing me the opportunity to be on their board.
I completed my graduate program in the Peri-operative area at the Wesley hospital, where I rotated through the scrub/scout, anaesthetic and post anaesthetic care unit. I choose anaesthetics as my specialty area and gained proficient skills in all clinical areas. In 2009, I completed the Princess Alexandra Anaesthetic nursing course, which gave me the necessary educational requirements to become a clinical nurse. I then decided to undertake a Masters in Health Science (majoring in anaesthetics) which I completed in 2014. I have a passion for blood management and the Wesley hospital has given me the opportunity to be in-charge of their cell-salvage service. I am currently undertaking a Master’s in business administration (executive), to gain the necessary skills to pursue my new ambition of health management. I have had the opportunity to be the Acting Clinical Nurse Manager for anaesthetics on multiple occasions.
