I am a Director, Economist and Committee Chair with over 20 years of experience in economic research, including over 10 years of executive and board-level experience across the public sector in agriculture and social policy environments. In an executive capacity I am a Director at the Productivity Commission where I lead research on Australia’s mental health policies. Previously I was Acting Assistant Secretary in the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources. In this role I led the AGSOC Traceability Project and economic research in ABARES. As ABARES Director of Biosecurity Economics and Productivity I led research worth over $2M annually and authored over 50 reports on agricultural productivity, biosecurity and regulatory impacts. In this role I received the Secretary’s 2015 Australia Day award for significant contribution. I have particular expertise in economics, strategy and public policy, as well as public and private sector experience in agriculture, hospitality, property, social services and international trade.
